The best home remedies ....

I have had several colds this year, and I feel another coming on.....I do not believe in Cold med's
I have used some home remedies that work some what well, but I would like to hear you have in mind ....

My Grandma mixes a cup of warm Milk, honey, garlic and butter in drink and it does help to clear up the chest very nicely...but you have drink 3 times a day ...

My wonderful Babysitter just told me about the Jamaican cold remedy --- Apple cider vinegar, honey and garlic crushed up. ( trying this right now ) will report back

Client advised me a few months oil of oregano (yuck ) I did this one and also took some Vitamin C ....I will admit it helped a bit and I was really sick ...you are supposed to take the oil of oregano as soon as you feel the symptoms coming on. I already had a full blown cold. This is sold as an oil in a small bottle and available at the heath food store, it costs about $15 - $25. and it is very yucky it will burn the throat, so you have take in a glass of juice of something...

Neo-Citran, alcohol and lots of blankets. You take the NC and the shot so you pass out and stay asleep. Before you go to sleep, wrap yourself in tons of blankets which will cause you to sweat out toxins. As soon as you wake up from being too hot, you have to shower immediately otherwise the toxins seep back into your body. I e done this many times and always feel much better the following day. oh yes.. the honey helps.. I boil the lemon right in with the ginger .... I know it burns going down .. but I just drink it fast ..

Also ... Echinacea is a good pill to take regularly ... it builds your immune system .. very good vitamin to take when you work with the public

okay but neo citron and cold fx are all non-natural remedies .....I spent $80 at the health store last time I was sick and I did buy Echinacea ....yes it did help ....

it's basically a plastic pot that you fill with a saline solution and pour into one nostril -it'll come out the other. good for clearing up nasal congestion. i personally find that the squeeze bottle works better, but that's just me. definitely good for everyday use as well. your nasal passages can get a lot of gunk up there.

It would be fun to watch you drink pickle juice while you're standing on your hands. Of course that assumes that you're upside down and not just putting your feet on your hands while in a squatting position. :)

Between you and me... i drink pickle juice daily... In a cup. I love the taste and it's cleansing.

Problem is I have all these pickles in jars in my fridge... just no juice in them because I'm addicted to it :-(

Oh well... i don't drink alcohol. ... i guess pickle juice is my poison

I did try the second option, and it definetly worked for me. Funny thing is my Grandfather told me about that (LOL). Haven't tried the other two, but thanks for the tips.

My first reaction as I spit up my drink through my nose is always 'Well of course you are darling, you're an SP who is milking pickles all day for a living - I should hope you like the juice!" Too freakin' funny...

Why soo many colds already ??? When going into a store I use their handy wipes to wipe down the shopping carts . When going into a public bathroom , once I wash my hands I use their paper towels to turn off the water . Then use a clean paper towel to open the door if you have to pull on it . Stay away from people if you know they're sick .

Dress in appropriate clothing as not to catch a chill when out and about . Never mind about fashion . Stay away from places that people are congregated close togeather such as bars and night clubs . I know that's not easy but there are alot of people that are sick who still go out to party .

Don't hang around with people who's kids are sick . That's the worst case . Kids are sick all the time . Parents get sick alot because their kids are always sick. Guy comes into work sicker then a dog . You ask him are one of your kids sick . Yes . Stay away from me please . Happens all the time.

I get maybe 1 cold a year . I must be lucky.

Nice hot tea with honey and lemon . A few good shots of your favourite booze . Then go to bed . A nice bowl of chiken soup is good too .

Lucky duck! I get sick usually at the beginning of Winter. . With all the weather changes. I keep my house toasty... so going from cold to warm does it to me. I take cold FX. .. seems to work ok for the most part
